The role: International Payroll Specialist (Europe & Italy focus)
In this position, you will act as a key coordinator of payroll operations, working closely with external providers, HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinatingend-to-end payroll activities with external providers across Italy and France.
- This role focuses on preparing and managing payroll data rather than calculating payroll internally.
- Validating and consolidating payroll inputs (new hires, terminations, variable pay, absences, benefits, etc.).
- Reviewing payroll calculations and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local labor and tax regulations.
- Supporting Finance with payment files, reconciliations and payroll reporting.
- Managing employee payroll queries in collaboration with HR and external vendors.
- Contributing to the standardization and continuous improvement of payroll processes across countries.
- Participating in audits, system updates and payroll-related transitions.
- Acting as a backup for other countries, promoting knowledge sharing within the team.

What will help you succeed
- 2–4 years of experience in payroll coordination, ideally in multinational or shared-service environments.
- Experience in European payroll processing (Italy, France, Belgium or Germany highly valued). Solid understanding of local payroll regulations and willingness to grow into a multi-country role.
- Experience working with external payroll providers (e.g. ADP, SD Worx) and HRIS/ERP systems (Workday, SAP, etc.).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a problem-solving mindset. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Team-oriented, curious and proactive in an international context
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
- Fluent English is mandatory. Italian language skills are highly valued. Knowledge of Spanish or French is considered a strong plus; additional languages are an advantage.
